Lara Thoms is half of the performance duo Spat + Loogie who work between performance, video, installation and interactive new media. As well as creating her own artworks, Lara curates and produces events, programs and festivals – including co-curating NightTime at Performance Space, an artist-led platform for short works across all mediums.

“I do producing and curating to generate a buzz and community around the kind of work I love, that I like to make, and that my peers are making…. It’s totally paid off to my practice as an artist. Now there’s a bunch of people my age creating opportunities for each other and taking on different roles of artist, curator and producer all at once. We’re not restricted by the trajectories artists are supposed to take – it’s much more malleable and exciting this way.”
