Alice Williams will undertake a development and showing of her new work, The Seagal. In The Seagal, Alice will play Steven Seagal preparing for his role as the seagull in Chekhov’s naturalist classic The Seagull. In Chekhov the seagull is a fragment of Nina, the main character who struggles to become an actress in a world of possessive love and ambition. Steven Seagal is a good cop in a bad mood. Both Zen master and U.S. patriot, he is an instinctual force of avenging justice.

The Seagal is a fifty minute therapist’s hour in which Seagal talks to audience. It begins in the morass of senseless, aesthetically insulting violence that is Seagal’s recent work. Can Seagal re-remerge as a force of nature? What would it take How can Seagal find his role as the light that guides a young actress through the darkness? Is he still, The Seagal?

On Tuesday 26th October this development will include an open martial arts dance/ movement workshop. For more information about the workshop please contact Alice 0402 094 738.
