Residency

Performance Space’s well established residency program forms a key part of our commitment to supporting dynamic collaborative processes between artists and creative teams.

Our residency program is offered to independent artists and small companies collaborating across disciplines, technologies and/or artforms to create new performative and installation-based contemporary art work. Using in-house resources in terms of personnel and technical equipment, the residency program supports both practice-based research and the creative development of new work. It provides an opportunity for artists to receive important critical feedback on works in development by their peers, external curators and producers, and to audience-test complex platforms and technological interfaces for public interaction.

Performance Space’s residency program is enriched by a number of organisational and funding partnerships that will result in new works being presented by Performance Space and/or other institutions and festivals. Residency partners include Critical Path, University of NSW, Sydney University and PACT.
