Kate Richards
Kate Richards is a multimedia artist and producer with a background in media production, experimental film and video art. In 2004, she attended the Time_Place_Space (T_P_S) laboratory produced by Performance Space where she met peer artists from around the country including performance-maker Martyn Coutts. They went on to create a new work Wayfarer– a realtime game and multimedia performance event presented by Performance Space in 2007 and Wayfarer v2 – Urban Agents presented by the Victorian Arts Centre in 2009.
Kate identifies the benefits of T_P_S as – increased confidence in working in live performance, better collaborative skills, and new national and international networks of peers.
“It was a major watershed for me. The focus and intensity of the lab, along with the mix of skills and participants’ backgrounds, made for a dynamic and personally challenging experience… it provided me with a ‘leg up’ to better and deeper creative and professional practice.”
