Performance Space is extending its call for proposals from NSW-based Indigenous artists to apply for an IndigeSpace residency. IndigeSpace is an initiative to support the professional development and career pathways of mid-career Indigenous artists.
Performance Space is delighted to welcome Amelia Wallin to the position of Membership & Development Officer. Amelia was previously our Administrator and we are thrilled to have her step into this new role at Performance Space.

Performance Space is seeking volunteers for an exciting project with international artists Walker & Bromwich which will be presented as part of Local Positioning Systems at MCA as part of their re-opening celebrations.

Performance Space is delighted to announce Local Positioning Systems at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney. Local Positioning Systems is curated by Performance Space and adds a season of performance, participatory and site-specific art celebrating the launch of the new MCA.

Daniel Brine, our esteemed Director, is leaving to head up The Junction in the UK. We're all incredibly sad to see him go. The Board have announced that Bec Dean and Jeff Khan will be appointed Co-Directors for six months starting in January 2012.

After a successful first season as part of Performance Space’s WALK series in April 2011, The Waterloo Girls is returning for two nights only on Sat 5 and Sun 6 November as part of the NSW Reconciliation Council 'Our Place' series.
Our Director Daniel Brine is leaving Performance Space after 3 amazing years leading the organisation. Daniel is returning to the UK at the end of the year to take up the post of Director at The Junction, Cambridge. We are very sad to say goodbye. But as we roll full steam into our upcoming season Exchange, we can see the fruits of Daniel’s incredible work at Performance Space and excitement for the future he has shaped for us. Heartfelt thanks are due from all of us at Performance Space for his wisdom, generosity and vision. Good luck Daniel!

As part of Green Bans Art Walk on Sat 27 Aug, 6pm there will be a screening of
Pat Fiske’s 1986 documentary Rocking the Foundations, with an introduction from the filmmaker. One of the first women to be accepted as a builders labourer, filmmaker Pat Fiske traces the development of a quite singular union whose social and political activities challenged the notion of what a union should be.
But if you have missed out, never fear! There will be a film screening at the Woolloomooloo PCYC (next door to the Firstdraft Depot) as the closing event of the project.
