Time Place Space 6
Applications are being invited from Australian artists working across disciplines, cultures, and/or mediums to participate in Time_Place_Space_6, a residential laboratory focussing on hybridity as a methodology for making work with an emphasis on performance.

It will be held from Saturday January 24th to Saturday February 7th at QUT Creative Industries Precinct in Brisbane.

Time_Place_Space_6 is a joint initiative of the Australia Council, and Arts Queensland, Produced by Performance Space. T_P_S is co-curated by Teresa Crea (Director and New Media Arts Fellow), Sarah Miller (Professor, Faculty of Creative Arts University of Wollongong) and Fiona Winning, (Director of Performance Space, Sydney).

Time_Place_Space_6 will be facilitated by a team of six diverse Australian and International artists, including: Margie Medlin for 20 years Medlin’s art practice has combined visual art, with lighting and spatial design for both her own installations and dance performances produced in collaboration with choreographers. Since 2003 her art works has been exploring expanded cinema, through interactive systems design, focusing on software, hardware and engineering developments to interpolate data. Constantine Koukias, is an Australian composer and director. He is the co-founder and Artistic Director of IHOS Music Theatre and Opera, based in Hobart, Tasmania. He is well known for his innovative work in contemporary opera and other forms. He has composed and directed large-scale music theatre pieces for the Sydney Opera House and the State Theatre of South Australia and has directed several large-scale operas. Constantine has been the recipient of numerous International Commissions, awards and fellowships. Shigeaki Iwai his recent works deal with the issue of communication and multicultural phenomena in cities and rural areas in the world. He often conducts long-term fieldwork research prior to an exhibition. He also attempts to represent and reconstruct local communities or traditions in a contemporary way, using differing media including sound, text, video, and other forms of installation. His work has exhibited in Brisbane, Perth, London, Rotterdam, Aarhus, Stuttgart, Milan, Toronto, Havana, Bangkok and many cities in Japan. He has been involved in organizing a number of projects and educational workshops for all ages of people. He is currently lecturing at Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
